Question:

What is Moderation, and how long does it take?

(Last edited: Thursday, 29 April 2021, 12:55 PM)
Answer:

Moderation is an internal process where a Tutor/Marker's work is sampled to ensure standards and quality processes are met.

We do not sample any work that is more than 3 months old. Once you have submitted your last assessment your work will remain in the moderation stage for 1 month, in case your last assessment is reviewed.

Although it is not your work that is being moderated, if areas of improvement are identified or where an answer should have been referred to you then your assessment may be returned to you to make changes.

If you have any further questions regarding Moderation please contact the Online Learning Team via the form below:

Question:

What qualifications do I need to start a course?

(Last edited: Thursday, 24 October 2024, 2:15 PM)
Answer:

For most of our courses you do not need any previous qualifications. However, as most of our courses are delivered online it would be beneficial if you had a basic competence in IT and the internet.

For SL6 courses we ask that you have a Level 2 (SL5) or equivalent.

You can see any qualification entry requirements on each course page description on our website

Question:

When will I receive my Certificate?

(Last edited: Thursday, 24 October 2024, 2:16 PM)
Answer:

If this is for a Moodle or Micro Course your certificate will be available online at the end of your course.  You can save this and print as and when required.

If you are studying a SL5 or SL 6 course then it can take a few months to receive your certificate.  This timeframe can be substantial during busy periods.

Once you have passed your course, your work will be in a stage of moderation for one month.  After this you will receive an email confirmation of completing your course and a date to expect receipt of your certificate.
