Hazards
When using a gas or electric ring in the kitchen to heat up liquid there are several hazards to consider.

The first hazard is the heat produced by the ring, which could burn you. The second is the hot liquid which could scald you.

Without the heat though, the job could not be done.

Minimising Risks
Turn on the ring after the container is placed on it.

Use no heat higher than is essential to complete the job.

Turn off the ring before removing the heated container.
